Ballyholland lends support to Club Down Race day
Cathal and Colm joined Club Down Chairman Malachy McCourt, County Chairman Kevin Bell and county players Paul Murphy, Ronan Murtagh (both from Ballyholland) and Danny Hughes and Ballyholland GAA Chairman Kevin Loughran in paying tribute to the Galway plate winner and lending their support to the Club Down raceday.
Club Down Chairman Malachy McCourt thanked Cathal McGovern for allowing Ballyholland to be associated with the Club Down raceday. He said "There have been strong links between the GAA community and the horse racing community over the years and the naming of this great horse after the local GAA club is another tremendous example. I know Ballyholland made a lot of local punters very happy when he won the Galway Plate and I hope he will continue to have a successful racing career.
"There could be no better way to promote the Club Down raceday than through Ballyholland and I encourage all GAA and horse racing fans in the county to support this event by joining us in the Club down pavilion on 28th august. I promise a great night's entertainment and I'll even ask Cathal and Colm for a few tips which I'll be happy to pass on."
Tickets for the Club Down pavilion (which includes meal, betting and bar facilities) cost £75 or £750 for a table of ten. For further details contact Malachy McCourt (07771731494), Sean Magee (07773343151) or any Club Down Committee member.
